NATURAL DISASTERS

INTRODUCTION
Natural disasters are extreme, sudden events caused by environmental factors that injure people and damage property. Earthquakes, windstorms, floods, and disease all strike anywhere on earth, often without warning. As examples, you can study those disasters that have occurred around the world throughout history.

TASK
Answer the following questions?
* What is a natural disaster?
* Name at least five natural disasters.
* Does climate change have any influence on these Disasters?
* Have they increased over the last years?
* Can we do anything to help?
*Are the different governments worried about it? Why?
*Are they doing anything to help the Earth?


PROCESS 
To answer the questions you need to begin your research. So, you are going to divide in groups of 3 and each one of you will play a different role:

A geologist 
As a geologist you will have to answer the following questions:
* Is human activity contributing to these disasters to happen?
*Are there scientific reasons?
*Name the most common natural disasters at present.

A journalist
As a journalist your job will be investigating and contrasting the information the others in the group give you and sumarise it in an article.Also use the information you can find in the following sites in the internet.You can ask as many questions as you need to your partners in order to write your article.
